Berlin, 26 May 2026. Womenize!, the conference and networking platform for women and under-represented individuals in the games industry, is hosting its next event on Wednesday 3 June at the Institut Français Berlin (Kurfürstendamm 211, 10719 Berlin). The full-day programme brings together inspiring talks, practical workshops and masterclasses, as well as open panels featuring international industry experts.

“Womenize! is a place where knowledge is shared, networks are strengthened and new perspectives are brought to light. Especially in these times of rapid change in the games industry, we need spaces where we can exchange experiences and shape the future together,” says Madeleine Egger, Head of Womenize!.
 
Following the welcome address by Womenize! co-founder Ruth Lemmen and Madeleine EggerKelly Vero (Technical Founder, NAK3D) will open the programme with her keynote speech, “You Are Not Your Job Title: The Transferable Power of Game Makers” – in which she will demonstrate how game developers can apply their skills far beyond the games industry.
 
Talks and panels: Community management, queer developers, the art of voice in games
 
In the talk “Behind the Hype: What it Really Means to Manage Communities”, Candela Ayala Vizán (Partner and Influencer Manager at Gameforge) discusses the reality of community work – beyond buzzwords and expectations. In “Tools for Effective Change: Lessons from 2 Decades in the Machine”, designer Lavendel Kranz reflects on two decades of attempts at change in the games industry and asks: What has really worked – and what comes next?
 
The panel “Be Queer, Make Games – Queer Perspectives on Making Games”, featuring Shelley GrafMatthias Riemensperger and Dr Kenneth (Rico) Norwood, and curated by Malina Riedland Beck Niederländer (Foundation for Digital Games Culture), explores the creative and personal realities of queer developers. Under the heading “The Art of Voice in Games”, featuring Filip Cholewczynski and Robyn Pacetti, the panel explores the role of voice and performance in game development.
 
The talk “Leading LiveOps: Product, Production, and the Reality of Running a Live Game”, with Valeria Spirande and Olivia Trigg-Simpson offers insights into the day-to-day of live games and the challenges that arise between product strategy, team dynamics and player needs. In “Lost in Translation”, Anna Gruzina (InnoGames) analyses why the marketing and product departments often fail to see eye to eye.

A particular highlight is the fireside chat ‘In Between Chapters: Reinventing Yourself When the Path Isn’t Clear’, in which Mafalda Duarte and Ruth Lemmen speak candidly about dealing with career setbacks, uncertainties and the emotional reality that comes with them.
 
Workshops: Imposter Syndrome, Personal Values & Game Content, Safer Gaming
 
The workshops offer practical discussions in smaller groups: in “Not a Syndrome, a System: Who Benefits from When You Feel Like an Imposter?”, Isabella SpitznagelLeonie Wolf and Casilda de Zulueta demystify the so-called imposter syndrome as a structural phenomenon. In “Conscious Design: Translating Personal Values into Content”, Ivonne Vaziri-Elahi invites participants to incorporate personal values into game development. Faith Carriere and Raphael Stange (Nitrado) explore in “Allies in Action: Building a Safer Gaming Industry Together” how active solidarity makes the industry safer and more inclusive.
 
Masterclasses: Developing a game in 90 minutes and the ultimate game launch
 
In the masterclass “Create, Play, Iterate: Let’s Make a Game in 90 Minutes”, Anne Sauer (Playing History) guides participants through a collaborative game development process, from the initial concept to a playable prototype. In “10 Things You Need to Know to Successfully Release Your Indie Game”, indie game developer Irene Preuss shares practical tips for a successful launch. Art Director Theresa Schlag demonstrates in “Game-Ready Art – Making It Work In-Engine” how 3D assets in Unity can truly become game-ready. Jaqueline Martin (Gentleland) presents a comprehensive roadmap for indie releases and crowdfunding campaigns in “Ready to Launch? The Ultimate Launch Checklist!”.
 
The event concludes with a networking session from 6.45 pm, providing all participants and speakers with an opportunity to exchange ideas and connect.
